The hair is normally layered 1 to 2 inches all over the head, with the front combed forward in order to form a fringe. This style can be adapted to suit any face, but those who already have long faces – such as diamond shaped faces – should be careful that their faces don’t appear to be even longer.

Short, spiky styles are very popular with boys. In these styles, the hair is cut into short layers, and gel is used to spike the top into small spikes. The spikes can be wherever the boy wants them, and depending on the length of the hair, the spikes can be long or short. When a formal event comes up, the hair can be brushed and styled into a nice sleek style, without the spikes
